My Mundane Musings

Growing up I longed for the fast paced life of big city life and corporate America. Now I’m a stay at home mom of 4 in a small rural community! And I wouldn’t have it any other way! (At least for now).

1.What was I doing ten years ago?
Let’s see, I was almost 21 and Chip and I were busy planning our wedding.  I was still in college, so I was busy with studying and going to classes (or probably busy NOT going to classes).  I was working at a grocery store inside a big nursing home and loving every minute of my life.  I hated the whole going to classes thing, but I really enjoyed my college years.  All in all, being 20-21 was just a great year in my life!

2.What was I doing one year ago?
One of the joys of blogging is I could actually go back and check! LOL!  We were watching basketball and we went and spent the day in Springfield.  Which is really weird – see what I’m doing today!

3. What was I doing yesterday?
I didn’t do much of anything yesterday.  I did bunches of laundry.  Searched endlessly for my green shirt (which I still haven’t found).  I’m still sick but getting a bit better.

4. What am I doing today?
Cleaning and packing up the kids.  Chip and I are going to Springfield tonight to see Bethany Dillon and Jeremy Camp in concert.  WOOHOO!!!

5.What am I doing tomorrow?
Probably more cleaning, working on some lesson plans for school for next week, going with Chip to the dr, and if Seth’s not feeling better maybe getting him in to see the dr as well.  Have I told y’all how sick of drs I am?

6. Name 5 bands/singers I know most of the lyrics of?
Third Day,
Jennifer Knapp, Jeremy Camp, Todd Agnew, David Crowder Band

7. 5 snacks I enjoy?
Pretzels, chocolate, coffee, peanut butter cookies, Frosted Flakes right from the box

8. What would I do with $1,000,000,000?
First I’d tithe.  No doubt about it.  OH MY!  I thought that was a million dollars, but it’s a BILLION!  Wow!  That’s a whole lot of cash!  I would donate generously to missions.  I would put away money for my kids and future grandkids.  I would fly/drive my Gram down to MS to see her sisters for as long as she wanted and pay for someone to go in and take care of my aunt so she wouldn’t have to worry about it.  I would buy my IL’s a house.  They’ve devoted their entire lives to ministry and because of that have little they can show in the way of material possessions.  I would buy a house for us.  I would buy a flat in downtown Chicago for us to use when we needed to get away and let friends and family and other ministers use it whenever they wanted to get away for a while.  (I figure there are plenty of places like that out in serene places, why not put it somewhere exciting that people can’t usually afford to go stay?  What better place than downtown Chicago?).  I would buy a Starbucks franchise and put it here in town so I’d have access to all the coffee I wanted when I wanted it.  OH!  And I’d hire a driver so that my husband wouldn’t get all worked up about me not having my license.

9. 5 places I would run away to?
Australia/New Zealand, Europe for a month, a nice warm beach somewhere serene and peaceful, my Gram’s house, a nice warm bubble bath with soft jazz and candlelight.

10. 5 bad habits I have?
Biting my nails, yelling at the kids (but I’m working on it), drinking too much soda, not taking pictures of my kids (I have a feeling I’ll regret that someday), staying up too late and wanting to nap all day

11. 5 things I like?
My husband (he’s my best friend and such a great guy – I love spending time with him), my kids each for different reasons, chocolate, coffee, warm fall days on the porch

12. 5 things I would never wear in public?
Pajamas, slippers, a miniskirt, capri pants/gauchos (anything that resembles the highwaters I ran from growing up), clothes you can see through

13. 5 movies I like?
Walk The Line, The Notebook, The Princess Bride, You’ve Got Mail, Return To Me

14. 5 Famous People I would like to meet?
I’m not really into the whole famous people thing.  I really can’t think of any.

15. 5 things that I don’t like?
Veggies (most of them anyway), corned beef (I made it for lunch on Sunday.  I do NOT like corned beef), waking up in the morning, ignorant people who can’t keep their mouths shut, bad coffee (instant coffee, coffee that isn’t brewed right, weak coffee, etc…)
