My Mundane Musings

Growing up I longed for the fast paced life of big city life and corporate America. Now I’m a stay at home mom of 4 in a small rural community! And I wouldn’t have it any other way! (At least for now).

Today was a good day.  Granny had an episode this afternoon, but other than that, it was a great day.

We had Seth’s baby dedication today.  I was almost late for church because he wouldn’t wake up enough to eat, so I had to cut him off before he was finished.  Normally I’d just have been late for church, but since we both actually needed to be on time this morning we had to push through.  He was ok right up until it was time to get up on the platform for the actual dedication and then he started fussing.  Chip’s dad did the dedication and made it short and then I took him into Chip’s office to feed him.  The PrimeTimers (over 50 group at church) presented us with a really nice quilt they made on Friday afternoons for Seth.  It’s beautiful.

After church, we all came over to the house and had lunch. Once we were done eating, we got things all packed up and the older kids headed off to Gramma’s house for the night.  They are all going off to a family reunion tomorrow morning/afternoon but since we’re still having to be up so much at night Chip and I figured we’d stay home and get things ready around here for our evening cookout.

Once everyone left, I went and took a nap for about an hour.  We headed out tonight for dinner.  I was VERY disappointed that Panera Bread was closed by the time we got up there.  Apparently they close at 7pm on Sundays. So, we ended up at Applebea’s instead.  It’s been FOREVER since we’ve been to Applebeas because they are sooo slow there.  After dinner we stopped at Target and then Walmart before coming to home.  Seth slept pretty much the whole time so it was a nice quiet evening out with my husband.

Tomorrow we’re going to spend the majority of the day at home.  Chip’s going to smoke a brisket and then everyone will come up here for dinner tomorrow night.

Have a great Memorial day weekend!  See you on Tuesday!
