Well, I was relating the sock story to a group of friends last night and one of them explained *why* the sock melted.  I’ll admit I was a bit perplexed because I’ve had no problem with washclothes in the microwave (not that I was trying to dry them though).  Anyway, the sock was cotton, but has nylon or something that gives it the stretch around the top and that is what melted.  Makes perfect sense since it was only the top part of the sock that had the issues.  I still won’t be trying to dry anything else in the microwave though.

We had a good day today.  The kids all have a cough, but we discovered after church today that Kait has a slight fever so we stayed home tonight and handed out candy for the trick or treaters.  She actually spent the better part of the day laying on the futon watch Star Wars Episode 1.  It’s all part of the kids 3 day plan – Episode 1 today, Ep 2 tomorrow and then Episode 3 on Tuesday when it’s released.
