Very rarely do I pick up a non-fiction book and start to read and think, “Wow! This person really gets it!” Never, not once, have I ever picked up a book about being a woman, that I actually enjoyed and didn’t make me walk away feeling like I had failed in some major area of my life. All of tha changed this week when I finally picked up Captivating, by John & Staci Eldredge. I don’t do book reviews often. But if you are a woman, or a man looking for insight into a woman, pick up this book. It’s a great find! At least take the time the next time you are at the bookstore to sit and read the first chapter. It was absolutely insightful and the first chapter alone gave me enough to chew on for a month. Definitely worth the read.
We’ve had a very slow week. Chip’s been sick so we’ve all been staying home for the most part. I lost two days this week with a terrible migrane. Wednesday, I slept until 11 and was back in bed for a nap from 1-4pm. I managed to make my way downstairs, play on the computer for about 15 minutes before the light got to me, and laid on the couch until it was a decent hour to go to bed. Pretty much everything about Wednesday is permenantly covered in a fog.
So, not much to report around here. I’ve got some ideas stewing in my mind for future blogs, but I’ll save those for another day.
