I think Kait has been counting down to her birthday for the last month. She can readily tell you how many days until her birthday and how many days until we go to Chuck E. Cheese. While she doesn’t like the month of April because my birthday and the three boys have birthdays then (Seth’s is actually May 2nd) because she feels a bit left out, she *loves* having her birthday in a month all by herself.
We’ve been settled on a theme for her party for the last year. I think it was when she got the American Girl catalog last December that she decided she wanted to have a “spa party.” So, she’s going to have two of her girlfriends sleep over and they’ll do the whole spa thing – lotions, facial masks (“and don’t forget the cucumbers for our eyes, Momma!”), nail polish, giggling, etc… I doubt there will be a lot of sleeping.
Unfortunately, she still can’t decide what she wants for her birthday or what kind of cake she wants. She’s changed her mind on her cake about 6 times in the last month. And for her gift, there are about 10 things that all cost $75 or more. When people have asked what she wants for her birthday I just tell them money because she’s saving to buy something big. *What* she buys will depend on how much money she gets I’m sure.
Watched the movie “Cars” tonight with the family. Cute movie. Even cuter was Seth snuggling in and falling asleep on my lap. It’s been a long time since he’s done that. Reminds me that even though he’s growing up, he’s still little enough to need a good snuggle with him momma. *grin* Gotta love a good snuggle!
