My Mundane Musings

Growing up I longed for the fast paced life of big city life and corporate America. Now I’m a stay at home mom of 4 in a small rural community! And I wouldn’t have it any other way! (At least for now).

Like nailing jello… January 11, 2008

I really think it would be easier to nail jello to the wall than to get Kait to clean her room. She has been in her room since Monday afternoon. She’s been allowed to come downstairs for meals. That’s it. I’ve even been making her do her schoolwork in her room once I know that she understands what she’s supposed to do. Her room is *not* clean. Not anywhere *near* clean. It’s better than it was on Monday, but after being up there for 4 hours already today, her room is still not any cleaner than when she went to bed last night. Even the promise of a new bed (she’s getting new to her bunkbeds this afternoon) isn’t persuading her. New shelves in her closet aren’t doing it. Instead, she’s sitting on the steps WAILING (and that is sooo not an exaggeration) at me about how she doesn’t want to clean her room. About how she needs someone to be up there with her. About how it’s not fair that she’s in her room and how nobody loves her and yada, yada, yada…  Drama surrounds Kait. And I pop a couple more Excederin…
