My Mundane Musings

Growing up I longed for the fast paced life of big city life and corporate America. Now I’m a stay at home mom of 4 in a small rural community! And I wouldn’t have it any other way! (At least for now).

Happy 6th birthday, Noah! April 11, 2008

Today, Noah turns six. For the only time ever in their lives, Noah is twice as old as his best friend and little brother, Seth. Or will be three weeks from today anyway when Seth turns three. And for this short period in my thirties, the numbers from my age will add up to Noah’s age. It’s kind of a cool thing if you have a thing for numbers, which I do.

And we celebrated in true Sanders fashion – Chuck E. Cheese (never, ever, ever again on a Friday – too many kids!), Build-a-Bear, Toys R Us, Target, Best Buy, Dairy Queen and then finally home. He looked at me tonight and said, “This is the best birthday ever!” And Build-a-Bear was such a treat! He knew exactly what he wanted and I think we were in there for less than 30 minutes total! It may have been closer to 20! He got a new dinosaur that he named Alex, with a little dinosaur that he named Alexander. The dinos will sleep together tonight in the tent he bought for them – that’s he’s already got set up on his bed. I love it when Noah has a good day. He gets this sparkle in his eye and you can just tell he’s happy. Which makes me happy.  Happy 6th birthday, Noah!

And now for a look back over the past year (click the pictures to make them larger)…

April 2007 – his 5th birthday

In May 2007, he taught himself to ride his bike…

In June 2007, he did a lot of swimming…

In July 2007, he won his first baseball trophy…

In August 2007, he bacame a BIG cousin for the very first time…

In September 2007, he officially started Kindergarten…

In October 2007, I apparently didn’t take too many pictures because this happened…

In November 2007, we celebrated life and being a family…

In December 2007, we got the first of many MAJOR snowfalls and he got his favorite book for Christmas…

In January 2008, he helped pack up his cousin so he could move to Wyoming…

In February 2008, we got even more snow…

In March 2008, we finished the first year of basketball…

And before we knew it, a whole year had passed and we were celebrating his 6th birthday…

He sure looks happy! He also looks like he’s really grown from age 5 to 6.
